Summary

Pine Brook Country Club, following completion of a significant golf course and pool project, turned their attention to the member and guest clubhouse experience. Phase 1 included the reallocation of underutilized kitchen space to the expansion of the member dining room to facilitate the addition of a bar. Culturally, the membership had never seen a reason for a bar in the member dining area, but as demographics evolved and members’ taste changed, Studio JBD introduced the new bar as the centerpiece of a new member dining room with dramatic vistas to the golf course and a new gas linear fireplace. Through the use of a combination of fixed and portable design elements, the space was able to continue as the member’s primary lunch destination as well as its new identity as the “go-to” place for all members young and old.

Phase 2 included the event space, lobby and “speakeasy bar” into which all were breathed new life through modernization and a creative use of colors, textures and style.
