Summary
Nestled in Purchase, New York, the clubhouse at Old Oaks Country Club is housed within a grand former mansion that was once a private residence. Its distinctive architectural character and sense of grandeur are revealed from the moment guests pass through the front gates.
The goal of this interior renovation and restoration was to honor the building’s original architectural beauty and residential character while introducing a refined, contemporary design experience for members and guests.
The project encompassed many of the principal public spaces on the main level, as well as the lower-level lobby and restrooms. In the Oak Room, the existing bar was thoughtfully renovated with a new stone countertop, extended to create a more comfortable and inviting experience. A custom backbar was designed to integrate seamlessly with the room’s existing architectural millwork while providing improved functionality for staff.
Throughout the interiors, color, scaled patterns, layered textures, classic lighting, and transitional furnishings were carefully composed to complement the clubhouse’s stately architecture. A thoughtful mix of existing and new furnishings creates an eclectic, sophisticated character, allowing the spaces to feel collected and established while still offering a fresh perspective.
